Part-time Software Development Work on UWA's Disease and Bushfire Spread Simulation Systems

Part-time employment: 8 hours per week

Role:
• To develop, maintain and experiment with simulation software 
• To take output data and process results suitable for publication
• To interact with research partners in Vietnam and the Solomons (influenza, dengue 
and Zika virus spread)and in the USA (bushfire spread prediction)

Requirements:
• Extensive experience in Java and/or C++
• Undergraduate/postgrad in software engineering or computer science or related 
discipline

Benefits:
• Training in discrete event simulation techniques
• Training in research methods
• Exposure to infectious disease and bushfire spread dynamics
• Preparation for employment in industry or academia
