What is the best way to identify fan trap and chasm trap in ER diagram early in the conceptual modelling designing stage? Do I have to draw semantic net with some possible data to be able to identify it?

You are encouraged to identify fan trap and chasm trap in the first project. But don't worry, you will be provided a solution ERD after project1. You can proceed with Project 2 using this ERD.

Hi, One obvious way to identify fan traps early, is the M:1:M relations, and for Chasm is there being the presence of optional participations, this is a good post to look over that goes into some detail: [stackoverflow] Thanks, Adam. ANONYMOUS wrote:
