Only loosely related to our project, but some students have asked why the tm_mday field of a struct tm is the only one that starts from 1, and not from 0:
   int tm_mday;   /* Day of the month (1-31) */
I've never known the answer to this, and it seems others have tried to find the (historic) reason, too. An interesting discussion but, despite combing through decades of internet archives, no really convincing reason found: https://mobile.twitter.com/hillelogram/status/1329228419628998665
