Just curious, it seems like people have different scores even if they've completed the same number of questions.

It has (currently, at least) been left on the default of scoring first by number of problems completed, then by time penalty. Time penalty is the sum of your submission time in minutes from the start of the "contest", plus 20 minutes for each wrong submission on a problem you eventually got. Unsurprisingly, the scoring is not the point here. We are just using DOMjudge as an easy way to test your submissions.
