#Venture X Coders for Causes presents WHACK - a Hackathon sponsored by Wesfarmers and Microsoft#

Students will work in teams to build solutions to tackle real challenges faced by Wesfarmers Chemicals, Energy & Fertilisers (WesCEF). Teams will be given one week and exclusive access to a suite of Microsoft tools to develop their products, receiving support from WesCEF Developers along the way. The problem tech stack will coalesce around the use of GitHub Copilot Enterprise and Generative AI using Azure Open AI. Stay tuned for more info on the problems you will be challenged to solve. This is intrapreneurship at its finest! This Hackathon will offer you excellent insight into the world of work. Gain business exposure and learn from industry professionals along the way.

Logistics: The Hackathon will take place from Monday, September 4 - Friday, September 8.

  • Monday, September 4: Launch Night 6:00pm Meet WesCEF team members who will present problem statements, meet your mentors (WesCEF developers), participate in a brief workshop from Microsoft to learn more about the tools available for your use over the course of the week.

  • Tuesday, September 5 - Thursday, September 7: Working Days 10:00am-5:00pm You will be given access to a co-working space in EZONE to build your solutions. Participate in a daily progress standup with WesCEF team members and touch base with your mentors.

  • Friday, September 8: Pitch Night 6:00pm Present your solutions to a panel of judges consisting of WesCEF and Microsoft executives (including Microsoft’s CTO!).
