Hi Everyone, A FAQ about the Contribution mark:

My team and I were wondering if you could expand on the marks that go towards individual contribution. In the project file you stated, “There is a mark, worth 20% of the overall assessment, for contribution. That is, the mark reflects the total effort you have put into the project, as recorded in the Booked Hours and supported by submissions to GitHub. The mark will simply be 2 times the number of hours divided by 10 (rounded to 1 decimal place).”

Does this imply that we are expected to log 100 hours in order to get full marks? Or how many hours are you expecting we log?

Yes, but the expectation is that most people will generally contribute around 60. Only a small number of people get anywhere near a genuine 100hrs/10marks if everyone does their bit, and frankly, that is healthier for all. The max 10 marks is recognition for those who have put in an extraordinary effort, as we can’t have over-marks.
