Hi all,

I hope you had a relaxing break, and managed to get the first project done. Some
important information follows:

1. All the Zoom meetings (lectures, workshops and labs) require a password to
access from on. I've set the password to 000000 (six zeros) for all of them. The
meeting ids remain the same.

2. I have set up group registration for project 2 on https://drtnf.net/index.
This allows you to enter your fellow group members student numbers, project
title, and select your demonstration time. Demonstrations will take about 10
minutes and be done in week 12. All members of the group must be present at the
time. Also, the group registration project has been written using the same
technology as project 2 should be using, and the source is available.

3. There is a staff student liaison meeting tomorrow (Tuesday) at 1pm. It's a
zoom meeting https://uwa.zoom.us/j/905811320, with password 945386. There will
also be a second meeting the following Tuesday, same time, meeting url and
password.

4. The university will be using ExamSoft (Examplify) for end of semester exams.
This allows you to sit the exam on your home computer under exam conditions.
There is an FAQ at https://www.web.uwa.edu.au/novel-coronavirus/online-exam-faq.
Take particular note of the hardware requirements for examplify
(https://www.web.uwa.edu.au/novel-coronavirus/online-exam-faq#2-03), and you can
apply for hardware support if you require
(https://uwa.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_5tAZE38i1jbUVpz).
The software does require high level access to the operating system, and there is
an option for students who do not wish examplify to do the exams at a different
time.

The second half of the unit covers a lot of material and is fairly intense, so
make sure you keep up with lectures and ask questions early. I'll hopefully see
you all in lectures labs and workshops.

Good luck!

Tim.
