Hi Christopher,
For task 1, my shellscript performances well for "shell> ./between 20/04/2020
02/04/2020", however, for "shell> ./between 02/04/2020 20/04/2020", the result is a
negative number. Thus, is the schellscript acceptable?

No, all differences should be positive, just like the example on the assignment page.

Hi chris:
the task 1 shell script receives the project's name as a command-line parameter, so
what this parameter do?
I have read all the discussion about task 1 in the help4007, i don't know i understand
right or not.

the shell script will still run whether the "project name" in the comment line is
calcmarks or not.
what happen if we type ./updateversion $projectname in the shell?
it will update the project name in the comment line?

Yes; depending on what the value of $projectname is,
your script will find, check, and update the comment lines involving that project's name.
