Hi all,

Lab sheets are up on the website, together with links for the relevant MS Teams
meeting, if you're attending online - see
https://cits4407.github.io/resources/#workshops.

There's a prepatory "lab sheet" up this week, entitled "Accessing Linux".

It contains instructions on how to access a Linux environment - depending on whether
you're using your own Mac or Windows computer, or a UWA lab computer, or connecting in
to UWA via the Unidesk system.

If you're planning to attend online, I'd suggest you try out the "Accessing Linux"
instructions beforehand, if you can - that way, if you run into problems, you can ask
them right away, rather than perhaps finding out about them, say, 20 minutes into the
lab.

The facilitators for the labs are Alvaro Monsalve and Daniel Smith:
https://cits4407.github.io/#facilitators

I will try and attend some lab sessions too, if Alvaro or Daniel are unavailable, and
also just to see how people are getting on.

Let me know if you have any queries.

cheers

Arran

Hi Arran,

I found there were 4 online labs. Mine was scheduled on Fri. May I join the lab on Thurs instead?
Thank you.

Hi Hiaxin -

As long as there aren't more than about 30 people trying to attend a lab, I don't mind which lab you go
to - in fact you can go to more than one, if you want.

If there are more than 30 people, the lab demonstrator may have trouble dealing with everyone's queries,
and may limit the lab to people who are actually timetabled to attend it - but there's no harm in
trying.

cheers

Arran
