Hi all, I'm midway through marking assignment 2. While most submissions have been very good, there are a few that run poorly or not at all. If you receive a mark that you do not agree with ("it works fine on my machine!"), please do the following before requesting a re-mark: 1. Copy your code and the input text files (attached) into Docker container. 2. Take a screenshot showing the output of the following commands in the Docker container: ls pwd whoami bash style_cmp sample1.txt bash style_cmp sample1.txt sample2.txt Bear in mind that we are each marking 60+ assignments. We can make simple troubleshooting changes, but we do not have time to fix complicated or tricky problems. In terms of execution time, your code should really be able to run all the tests in under 20 seconds. I've seen plenty of good submissions run under 10 seconds. If you still think we got something wrong, or the automarker missed something, please include the screenshot from step 2 in your email. Clearly state which tests you think we got wrong and include screenshots of the correct output (again, this should all be done in the Docker container).

Looks like 4407 is borked. I've uploaded the zip here instead: [CITS4407]

thank you. Got it! Just out curiosity, is it possible that the marks for ass2 will be released before the exam?

I'm aiming to complete my portion of the marking by the middle of next week, but that's all I can tell you

Hi Daniel, Thanks for letting us know your progress, by any chance you could also provide us with test cases as well as expected output? In that way we would then have some sort of idea on the Ass2 result, therefore knows what to be expect from final. Thanks

I would love that as well! 100% support this. Just like Michael released the tests after ass1, to release it for ass2 so we can have some idea. It will give people confidence before going into exam. I hope you will consider it

I'll leave it up to Michael whether he wants to release the exact tests, but I will tell you roughly which will be useful enough for exam prep. It's pretty much exactly what was asked on the assignment page: - create a profile (several tests for this with short and long texts - create two profiles and compare them (again, tests for both short and long texts) - compare a text against itself - create a profile for a non existent test - compare against a non-existent test

I do hope there are no more (admittedly very late) submissions.

Does that mean you can release the test cases, like you did for project 1. I hope you will consider doing this.

Hi, I can't help you if I don't know who you are, but I can confirm that Ass 1 feedback had to be removed to allow Ass2 feedback to be uploaded. Those were Chris' instructions. Not sure why. Can anyone else see their feedback? (Remember, I can't see what you see.) Cheers MichaelW

Hi Michael, I accidentally posted the previous post anonymously. I'm not able to see any feedback
