Hi,

Welcome to helpOSTS

Unlike the announcements that I send via LMS from CITS2003 or CITS4407, which are one-way communications, helpOSTS is a forum shared by both classes, where you can ask questions, or respond to other people's questions. Usual rules of etiquette, please.

One use I plan for helpOSTS is to post FAQs. That is, if someone contacts me with a question that is generally relevant, I will reply to them, but also reframe the anonymized question and my response as a FAQ. Thus, the whole class benefits. (Of course, anything that is confidential will be kept strictly confidential!!)

For those who missed the announcements at this morning's lecture,

  • I have secured more lab times for CITS4407, predominantly on Tue and Thu.
  • While nothing will actually change, I am encouraging you to think of labs as drop in sessions, where you can come, do your lab sheeets, but also have a facilitator present to answer questions.
  • As I mentioned, you can go to any lab time for either class, and stay for 1hr, or 2hrs, whatever.

Cheers MichaelW

PS helpOSTS does let you post anonymously. While I can see a role for that, I much prefer responding to posts where I can address the poster directly. To Whom It May Concern, doesn't really do it for me :-)
