If the latest version of Docker does not run on your laptop, please check https://docs.docker.com/desktop/release-notes/ for older versions of Docker. You can read/search the release note text to find a version that is supported for your laptop. For those of you running MacOS 10.15.whatever or 10.whatever.whatever, this should work for you.

If that does not work, I'm told that the lab computers are now running Ubuntu, which you can use to complete the labs and assignments. You will not be able to use Docker on these machines, but the Ubuntu environment on lab machines should be similar to the Ubuntu environment in the OSTS Docker image. If you are doing an assignment on lab machines, please test it in Docker before submitting to ensure that it behaves the same!
