Final Exam written to be an open book exam?

In the last lectures and workshops it was discussed that the exam was written as an open 
book exam but that it’s trying to assess more of your understanding more than anything 
else. Does this mean that the question split of theory to coding will be different from 
last year’s exam and also should I stop committing to memory the properties of REST 
architecture and the 12 agile software development principles etc?
