I submitted a form indicating I was disputing my mark. I was marked wrong on question 7 when it is now in fact correct, I chose C. I am also lobbying for a mark for question 18, I did not guess any answers, I either knew them or I was completely deluded. I am asking for a 14/20, where do we go from here?
Why are you lobbying for Q18?
Those who selected A, did so because they saw a missing semi-colon in iii.
Those who selected E, they looked at the query in whole (iii), which was syntactically correct, except for a missing semi-colon. That is why both the answers were correct.
There was no guessing in Q18.
DR Nasim, I thought that was the basis of filling in the form? No-one has followed it up. I have my examination paper whereby I actually wrote down 1 and 3 as correct, but 3 is not correct, I crossed out 2, but on the answer sheet for some reason I marked 1 and 2. This has occurred before in another setting and I was unable to dispute it because I made no notes. Now strictly speaking, I got the question wrong because 3 is not the answer, but you are waving that as correct. Now given the notes I made very clearly on the examination paper which took some extra time, I ruled answer 2 out and clearly stated 1 and 3. That is the basis of the one mark. Is anyone following up on the form I was asked to fill in because I have not been contacted? :>
Hi,
I followed up on the form.
The answer for Q7 is c. You have been given a mark for that.
For Q18, the answers were either A or E. That was not a guess game.
As far writing the correct answer on question paper is concerned, it will not be accepted under UWA's rules. Only answers given on the MCQs sheet are marked. If you believe that you filled out the correct box on the answer sheet and we have not given you marks can that, well that can be looked into. However, giving correct answer on question paper is something I cannot help with.
You can dispute this by sending a detailed email stating which question no., you are talking about to the student office.

Well, the student office would refer me to the UC as far as an appeal on a MCQ test, is a guess. All I can say is, that to write down 1 and 3 on the exam paper and then mark D on both the exam paper answer sheet, which is not A or E or both, was a stupid move by myself, my original request was about playing the "idiot card" and asking for some leniency. I knew the question, but it is not reflected unfortunately. It is not a major deal in the bigger picture, I have noted that a couple of students were pointing out a two mark penalty as an error and I thought it may have included myself. I will be more careful moving forward, thanks anyway.
