Hey mate, not from the teaching staff but I'm pretty sure something like that wouldn't really matter. I think the markers are mainly checking that your code makes sense in the context of the question. Probably safer not to use it unless asked to demonstrate how it works, or if your implementation needs that static method. Hopefully I'm correct and this is helpful in someway.
