You will be marked on the changes you make to the provided template. There is no reason to make a comment that already exists. The comments that already exist document the methods and their intended purpose, but of course none of them communicate the reason behind your design. You should include comments (typically inside the methods) that communicate reason as described in the Monday revision lecture. There should be some connection between the purpose and how you implemented it. Do not just repeat your implementation in English.

Hello, When I submitted my project, I removed the comments that were originally there as I thought it would just make it look a bit cleaner, am now starting to wonder if I should have just left them?

This should not affect your mark, as you are not marked on the contents of the provided template, but on your own additions. There was no reason to move the comments. I do not understand what you mean by "cleaner", but I know some students have a bad habit of trying to make code look "prettier" when viewed from a distance regardless of if it makes the code harder to read or understand.
