This forum is provided to promote discussion amongst students enrolled in CITS3200 Professional Computing.

Please consider offering answers and suggestions to help other students! And if you fix a problem by following a suggestion here, it would be great if other interested students could see a short "Great, fixed it!"  followup message.

Hi Everyone, Welcome to help3200. I imagine that, by now, you are well used to the helpXXXX fora that are associated with most CITS units. help3200 is no different. You are welcome to post questions, or reply to questions or contribute to a discussion - as you wish. You are able to post anonymously, and that sometimes is important, but in the normal run of things I'd much prefer to address the person I'm responding to. The only rule here is respectful questioning and discussion.

I will also use help3200 to post FAQs. Here are two:

#* Are there any deliverables for this week?# No. You only found out about the projects this morning, so I think it's fair that account for time spent should begin on Monday, and be recorded in the Week 2 deliverables.

#* Can teams working on the same project collaborate?# Short answer: No.

Longer answer. There are several reasons. Firstly, it's unfair for a team of 10-12 to be measured against teams of 5-6. Secondly, it's not great for Clients that have agreed to take on 2 Teams, as they lose the benefit of having two bites of the cherry, as different teams inevitably approach things differently. Finally, it's not great educationally, because in such a large team it is inevitable that several people will have very little to do, depending on the level of collaboration, but even without that there is the issue of "group-think".

Fair enough?

Have a good weekend.
