This forum is provided to promote discussion amongst students enrolled in CITS5501 Software Testing and Quality Assurance. If posting a question, it's suggested you check first whether your question is answered in the unit Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) list, and use the search box (on the right) to see if an answer to your question has already been posted.

Please consider offering answers and suggestions to help other students! And if you fix a problem by following a suggestion here, it would be great if other interested students could see a short "Great, fixed it!"  followup message.

Note that any posts must comply with the UWA Code of Conduct and the UWA Academic Conduct Policy. That means you should (a) treat everyone with respect and courtesy, and (b) not post your solutions to an assessment that's in progress.

If asking a programming question, it's recommended you read How do I ask a good question? If reporting or troubleshooting a bug in software used in the unit, it's recommend you read How to report bugs effectively.

Hi all,

My apologies for the later release than expected – there were some delays ensuring the project spec seemed clear and internally consistent – but the project spec is now available at

  https://cits5501.github.io/assessment/#project

I've made the due date in week 12. The project isn't very long, but nevertheless, there are 3 full weeks to do it in.

I do recommend reading through the spec as soon as you can, even if e.g. you are juggling other projects and plan to complete the CITS5501 project later. It's important to clarify any issues with the project spec early; if you only look at the project a few days before it's due and have questions then, I'll probably just refer you to this forum.

I'll have a Moodle project testing area available in the next few days. This will include some very basic tests of artifacts that can be automatically tested – e.g. code and grammars. But it won't include space for long-form English answers (e.g. questions 3 and 4 of the project).

At least a week before the project is due, I'll open up a final submission area on Moodle, and this will have space for your long-form English answers to questions.

If you've got queries about the project, feel free to post them here or ask them in labs. But do ensure you look through existing questions first. To keep the forum uncluttered, I will prune out questions which are just repetitions of a previous question, usually towards the end of the day.

Best of luck!

Cheers

Arran
