Yes to both questions. The project description, under File Formats (for the crontab-file) states "The words for the month and the day of the week, may be 3-letter lowercase abbreviations of their possible values, such as jan, feb, mar... and sun, mon, tue..." And you can always test out these questions using the sample solution.
