First, can we assume that all files haven't been modified/deleted since the last time we created index_files for them, or should we update the index file every time we run the program? And does this project require the program's running time, whether we need to use multi-thread for multi-core CPU? And in Example 1, "prompt. one> ./trove [-f indexfile] word", if the index file used at this point does not exist, do we need to create a new index file for it (creating it as all files in the system as the target file) or should the program throw an error?
That's quite a list of questions (but you're not interrupting anything by asking). - it's quite feasible for all files in an index-file to have been deleted since the index-file was created. - you only update the index-file if the -u option is provided. - unsure what you mean by "require the program's running time", but you won't require any multi-threading. - if a required index-file does not exist, or there's any related errors, report the error. Do not attempt to do anything 'automatically'.
