Is there a way to trim/slice an iterator object? What will it look like when an iterator object is returned for this method?

I am not sure I understand your question, but if you are asking what I think you are, that is basically what you have been asked to implement for this task. The instructions, documentation comments, and tests provide a clear specification of how the iterator you return should behave, in my opinion. If I have misunderstood your question, please let me know and clarify.
