Hi Professor, could you please elaborate the statement below: Ignore the rows for years outside those for which we have at least some Cantril data. (Cantril data may be absent in certain years within the range of those for which there otherwise is data; those cells should be retained.) its really confusing

It confused me too... My explaination towards this is: In data cleaning script, make sure we have every predictor(GDP, homicide rate, etc) not empty, but it's ok to leave Cantril score empty. Because best_predictor is where we should do filtering based on Cantril score. correct me if i'm wrong :) Ziyuan Ding

Sorry for being unclear. You will notice that there is no Cantril data for years before 2011 or after 2021, so years outside that range can be ignored. However, years with no Cantril data which are within the range should be included. See sample2.tsv for example. Cheers MichaelW 👨‍🎨
