Thanks Chris; wasn't aware of this. To others, maybe wondering why this was posted - UWA-IT used to run RHEL on students' lab computers (I think that they only support Linux in CSSE and EECE), but that choice was an annoyance because UWA-IT couldn't give away the software that they were licensed ($$$) to use. After years of disagreement over this, a quite standard Ubuntu distribution is now installed in labs. The still strong 'message' for this unit is, if you need a Linux distribution for your studies in this unit, choose Ubuntu, as described here: [CITS2002]
