Just looking for some clarification regarding today's clarification, "The project requires your project to synchronise (regular) files and not directories, empty or otherwise."

Does this mean that the program should NOT copy directories within the provided directory even with the -r argument? Or is this just describing the default behaviour?

(Politely) I have run out of ways to paraphrase an answer to this same question that keeps being asked.

  • the project requires you to synchronise files.
  • the project does not require you to synchronise empty directories.
  • the project does not require you to synchronise directories containing files.

The -r option has nothing to do with the approach to synchronisation. The -r option defines whether or not subdirectories should be entered as you search for files.

Please run the sample solution to see what is required.
